In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.

Woohoo! Good news for Louisiana businesses!

I was listening to WWL last night, and found out that the SBA has really gotten cranking on those disaster relief loans for Louisiana businesses trying to rebuild from KatrinaRita. They've pumped up their numbers by 50% in the past week -- from 4 loans, to 6!

Why, at that rate, they'll manage to process the loan applications of the remaining 50% of Louisiana businesses that suffered storm damage sometime around... uhm, 2095?

May God Bless George W. Bush and His holy annointed administration for their blazing and sterling example of efficiency under pressure!

In the meantime, I know one group of people who are NOT having to wait for their money:

Just count it as part of the Bush Administration's "No Billionaire Left Behind" Act. After all, if we didn't give the money to these billionaires rather than to the poor struggling guys on the gulf coast, why, those poor struggling billionaires might even have to sell their personal jets or somethin'!

Oh Boy how happy will that make me!

Don't spend too much time waiting, at the pace that the SBA is processing these loans, your grandchildren may get the rejection notice...

I swear, Louisiana would be better off if it were a foreign nation. Then the Feds would simply give the money to the state government, which while somewhat dysfunctional, hasn't ever reached *this* level of dysfunctionality (I mean, c'mon, the Feds provided 100 buses to evacuate New Orleans, Blanco rounded up over 1,000 buses to evacuate New Orleans by ordering school boards to provide them and by directly contacting other governors, this is ridiculous!). About all the Bush crime syndicate seem good at doing is taking money out of my pocket and putting it into Cheneyburton's pocket...

Oops, and holding press conferences to congratulate themselves on what a good job they're doing, the Feds are great at doing that too. "You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie!" "So are you, Mr. President!" Gah!
