Badtux the Snarky Penguin

In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.

My new ride

2005 Kawasaki Concours sport-touring bike. Mine looks identical to that one except that I've added a Givi E45 topbox for more storage.

Thanks for supporting our American economy--Sorry, our Japanese economy. God bless Japan bumper sticker on the back of it I suppose. Polaris, Victory, Big Dog,Texas Chopper, and yes, Harley Davidson are some "American" brands you could have supported, maybe next time I guess.

Anonymous,
Do you realize that quite a bit of 'foreign' cars/motorbikes are manufactured here in the US??? It's a global economy now.....

Err, you do know that the Kawasaki Concours is made in Lincoln, Nebraska, along with all other large Kawasaki bikes like the Kawasaki police bikes, right?

Err, no, you didn't know that. Alrighty, then!

As for the cruisers you mention, none of them are sport-touring machines, and they are twice the price. In the sport-touring market, there are four (4) possibilities: Kawasaki Concours, Honda ST1300, Yamaha FJR1300, and BMW GS1200ST. That's it. Harley and its clones only make slow, expensive "cruisers", they don't make sport-touring bikes.

And frankly, people don't buy Hogs to ride anyhow (other than the top-of-the-line dresser Road King, which I agree is a fine bike, as it should be, for $20,000). They buy Hogs to augment their shrunken scrotal sacs in hopes that if they wear enough black leather and put on a skull cap and fake stick-on tattoos and grimace through the bugs stuck in their teeth, people will think they have, like, actual balls...

Good choice. I wish you lots of fun riding. Won't catch me on an 'American' bike either. I do have balls and ya would catch me dead on a Harley.

Ever rode a Buell? Nice ride, sorry thats it is an American company that manufactures here in America. And for all you Union haters out there, the powertrain is Union made in Millwaukie, but the final assembly is a non-union plant. When will we wake up and see this global economy is just a race to the bottom in wages, with all those pesky baaad gov't rules and regulations in your way. And yes, Buell is owned by HD.

I like Buell's bikes, but they don't make a sport-touring bike... yeah, I knew about Harley buying Buell a few years back. Thankfully they've let Eric Buell just do his thing without messing with him...
